It is nearly 20 years since first putting foot in Kisangani, DRC. Just short of Stanley Falls (the Wagenia Rapids), 1 734 km upriver from Kinshasa. How long still before the indigenous churches in Kisangani will consistently and sustainably send Evangelists and Missionaries to the furthest reaches of the Congo River Basin, to other countries in Africa and to the decadent societies of Europe and the West? This obedience, however, will require dedicated servants, freed from slavery, such as Samuel Ayayi Crowther (missionary from 1841 – 1891), who was set free from slavery by the Royal Navy and by Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Yet, unless Africa learns to govern well, establishing economic models that feed and empower the people, allow better tithing to the churches in Africa and can support missions training and sending models, Africa will not be able to take up the burden of Good News to the world, where the Church in Europe and the West is now in decline as far as the Great Commission is concerned!
